Pokemon Scarlet and Violet collaboration could change everything. Now you can play a real multiplayer game with your friends.

The Pokemon Company has released a new trailer showing Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet. Like previous games, the game will feature familiar multiplayer such as Pokemon trading and fighting trainers from all over the world. But Scarlet and Violet will also be co-playing for a total of four trainers. It will expand the ways you and your friends can enjoy the new Paldea region.
Scarlet and Violet shake up the familiar Pokemon format as the first open world RPG games in the series. You will be able to play them with your friends. Head to Union Circle and invite up to three people for cooperative play. Together, according to one version, you can "fight wild Pokemon", adventure in the open fields of the Paldea region, and "spend time with your friends as you please". You and your friends can work together to defeat Tera Pokemon in Tera Raid Battles; You can battle to add the Terastal Pokemon, the new jewel-like form of the Pokemon native to the Paldea region, to your Pokedex.
Enjoy Multiplayer Gameplay with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
It's unclear whether the Scarlet and Violet collaboration is gated on regions, separate events, or otherwise. However, the trailer was revealed, with the Legendary Pokemon Koraidon and Miraidon riding together, hanging out in a town square while showing the Pokemon and standing outside. All of this emphasizes adventure and exploration. It gives a sense of departure from the more basic multiplayer features in previous Pokemon games. Scarlet and Violet also had wilderness areas that allowed trainers to see other players, but didn't specify whether this was real-time and didn't allow for real interaction.
Allowing real-time multiplayer exploration, especially in the main parts of the game, Scarlet and Violet would be an important step forward. Pokemon games have always had a cooperative heart. Collecting, trading with friends is encouraged, as completing a Pokedex becomes much easier when you work together. Real-time multiplayer – even if only in separate instances or regions – will be a continuation of that value and a culmination of these past common features.
Pokemon Swap Also Available In This Game
As in past games, you can trade Pokemon with other players in Scarlet and Violet. Use the Poke Portal to “Trade Links” that allows you to trade with a specific player. You can also do Surprise Trade, which will allow you to choose a Pokemon and trade it with a random player.
One caveat… The Surprise Trade was introduced in Scarlet and Violet, which was originally called the “Wonderful Trade”. resulted in a number of undesirable results. Players hacked Scarlet and Violet to add Pokemon that are not part of the region's Pokedex. (This was prior to the release of Pokemon Home for these games, which would allow players to import their own pocket monsters from other games.) Hacking also caused crashes for several players. In March 2020, The Pokemon Company released a patch that attempted to fix these crashes. In January 2021, The Pokemon Company said it would ban anyone playing with "illegally altered data."
Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet will also feature Link Battles, as in previous games. (It was part of Scarlet and Violet. But not in the more recently released Pokemon Legends: Arceus.) In Scarlet and Violet, you'll be able to battle other players by selecting this option in the Poke Portal.
